Season 5

Everybody Loves Raymond season 5 was debuted on 10-2-2000 with the episode entitled ‘Italy (1)’. Season begins once again with Ray, Debra, three kids, Ray’s parents, and his bro living in the Long Island. This season opens with a little surprise for Robert, a neurotic policeman who while vacationing in Rome falls in love with Stefania. Finally, Robert declares that Stefania is the gal of her dreams so she shows up in New York later this season. Initially, Robert-Stefania relationship blossoms this season, but as Robert is not capable to devote himself to any women so finally the couple broke up. A guest appearance was made this season, Macro, who is Stefania’s dad and is a good friend to Ray and Robert’s dad, Frank. Season deals with Ray who has many a misadventure of his own as he commits with his daughter’s beloved; faces a serious ego thrashing as his book is rejected by a publisher; meets with a gal he has dated 25 years back; he also tries to arbitrate a battle between his parents and in laws during the Thanksgiving dinner. This season again brings an Emmy award for Patricia Heaton as an Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy series. Season comes to an end on 5-21-2001 and the season finale was entitled ‘Ally’s Birth’. On this episode, Ray realizes that Ally is now a grown up and an independent gal. He re-calls the day when Ally was born; it was so threatening.
